| Summary: | From a revision of the concept of modernity (which, shaped by Enlightenment thinkers, strongly influenced part of the Catholic thought), Augusto Del Noce explores in the same modern time a Christian metaphysics school of thought called ontologist, which represents a continuity of the Christian metaphysical thought of St. Augustine as well as of St. Thomas Aquinas. Del Noce, as historian, values in a special way the instance of continuity, and it is from this idea, and not of the breakdown, which develops his own vision of modernity. The non-axiological approach, proper of the canonical and hegemonic version of the idea of modernity, will lead him to clarify the true nature of modern Christian ontologism. This, also, will allow him to lay down, from an inner dialectic between a rationalist and a religious version, the hermeneutic box in which he will place the historiographical reconstruction operated in Il problema dell’ateismo as well as in his following book Riforma cattolica e filosofia moderna. A partir de una crítica a la idea de la modernidad (la cual, forjada por pensadores iluministas, influyó fuertemente en parte del pensamiento católico), Augusto Del Noce explora, en el propio tiempo moderno, una línea metafísica cristiana denominada ontologista, la cual representa una continuidad del pensamiento metafísico cristiano tanto de San Agustín como de Santo Tomás de Aquino. Del Noce, en tanto historiador, valora de modo especial la instancia de la continuidad. Es a partir de esta idea, y no de la de ruptura, que elabora su propia visión de la modernidad. La visión no axiológica de la modernidad por parte de Del Noce, contrariamente a la concepción axiológica propia de la versión canónica y hegemónica de la misma, lo conducirá a precisar la verdadera naturaleza del ontologismo cristiano moderno. Esto, a su vez, le permitirá trazar, desde una dialéctica interna entre una versión racionalista y otra religiosa, el cuadro hermenéutico en el cual situará la reconstrucción historiográfica operada tanto en Il problema dell’ateismo como así también en el volumen del año siguiente, Riforma cattolica e filosofía moderna. |
