This article summarizes thi s discussion in contemporary philosophy, then shows Danto 's controversial position as an essenrialrst and, finally, explains the definition of art reached by this philosopher. En la estética contemporánea, particularmente en el contexto analítico, existe una marcada preeminencia de la tendencia antiesencialista en relación con la posibilidad de una definición del arte.
