| Summary: | La necesidad de una “nueva evangelización” es un imperativo ante el desafío de mantener siempre viva y actual la novedad del Evangelio. Para remitirse al origen de la expresión, por lo general se hace referencia a un discurso pronunciado por Juan Pablo II. Sin embargo, “nueva evangelización” es un concepto que ya había aparecido en la Conferencia de Medellín, para expresar la exigencia de llevar adelante la renovación del Concilio Vaticano II. No obstante, la traducción más fiel de la exigencia evangélica de una nueva evangelización es la expresión “conversión pastoral”, formulada por la Conferencia de Santo Domingo y retomada en la Conferencia de Aparecida. The need for a “New Evangelization” is a topic of outermost importance given the challenge of keeping the spirit and relevance of the message of the Gospel. The origin of this expression lies in a speech given by Pope John Paul II. Nevertheless, the concept of “New Evangelization” has already appeared at the Conference inMedellín to express the need to carry out the renovation proposed by the Second Vatican Council. Additionally, the most faithful translation for the evangelic demand of a new evangelization is the term “pastoral conversion”, coined at the Conference in Santo Domingo and retaken at the Conference in Aparecida. |
