| Summary: | La narración de 2S 20 muestra a Joab aniquilando a los últimos rivales militares de David, quien se consolida como rey absoluto de Judá-Israel, al tiempo que mantiene su imagen inocente respecto de las acciones de Joab. La redacción de este capítulo construye un “encubrimiento narrativo” de la figura violenta y calculadora de David tras la figura beligerante y descarnada de Joab. El presente escrito pretende develar los matices que equilibren estos dos personajes y dejen ver los juegos de roles político-militares entre ellos respecto de los pueblos de Judá e Israel. Para esclarecer dicho encubrimiento, se analizará 2S 20, su estructura, su trama y los distintos personajes que lo delinean. La tarea resulta ardua, ya que la redacción del capítulo es magistral y su disposición muy bien equilibrada. The narration of 2Sam 20 shows Joab destroying the last military rivals of David, who consolidates himself as the absolute King of Judah-Israel, while keeping his innocent image with respect to Joab’s actions. The composition of this chapter builds a “narrative cover-up” of the violent and calculating figure of David behind Joab’s belligerent and brutal figure. This article intends to reveal the shades that balance these two characters and allow viewing the political-military role-playing games between them with respectto the people of Judah and Israel. In order to clarify such cover-up, 2Sam 20 shall be analyzed, as well as its structure, its plot, and the different characters that outline the story. The task is hard, since the composition of the chapter is excellent and its arrangement is well balanced. |
