| Summary: | This article examines paratextual elements, specifically titles, as keys to understanding literary texts. Based on Gérard Genette's theory, the study focuses on titles of Children's and Young Adult Literature related to three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) linked to emotional education. The purpose is to evaluate their degree of transparency in relation to SDGs themes by means of a categorization that facilitates the selection of works for educational mediators. To this end, we analyze the degree of thematic referentiality of the titles. This analysis includes a typology based on designation and an evaluation of the significant effectiveness of the titles, triangulated by researchers. It has been observed that most of the titles in the sample do not explicitly reflect the SDG theme to which they are linked. Furthermore, the referential function is predominant, followed by the appellative and approximative functions, which complicates the delimitation of the concept of Children's and Young Adult Literature in terms of its potential to work on emotional education in the school environment. |
