| Summary: | The exegesis of the so-called katechon of 2 Thess 2:6-7 has long since transcended the boundaries of biblical studies and theology, moving into the realm of political philosophy. Its current interpretation ultimately inherits the positions of the Church Fathers. The purpose of this study is to revisit them and offer a proposed canonical reading, the one commonly adopted by those early commentators. Ultimately, it seeks to understand how a provident God acts in human history, marked by the actions of the Evil One through seduction and lies. La exégesis del conocido como katechon de 2Tes 2,6-7 hace tiempo que ha sobrepasado los límites de los estudios bíblicos y de la teología, pasando al campo de la filosofía política. Su interpretación actual es heredera, en último término, de las posturas de los Padres de la Iglesia. La intención de este estudio es volver sobre ellas y ofrecer una propuesta de lectura canónica, la habitual de aquellos primeros comentaristas. En definitiva, se trata de ver cómo actúa Dios providente en la historia humana marcada por la actuación del Maligno por medio de la seducción y la mentira. |
