| Summary: | El artículo presenta una nueva edición crítica de un poema religioso de inicios del siglo ix, compuesto en irlandés antiguo, titulado Regla de Comgall (espuriamente atribuido a san Comgall de Bangor [†604]). Con introducción, traducción al español y anotaciones finales lingüísticas y traductológicas. Como otras reglas métricas irlandesas, la obra presentada no es un documento normativo, sino una simbolización poética del carisma atribuido al santo patrono y la vida religiosa conducida, real o supuestamente, por sus herederos espirituales. Se trata de la primera traducción al español de una obra que contribuye a esclarecer aspectos clave de la espiritualidad y la práctica religiosa cristiana en Irlanda hacia fines del primer milenio. This article offers a new critical edition of an early ninth-century religious poem composed in Old Irish, the Rule of Comgall (falsely attributed to Saint Comgall of Bangor [d. 604]). It includes an introduction, a Spanish translation, and linguistic and translation notes. Like other Irish metrical rules, the work is not proscriptive. Rather, it is a poetic symbolization of the charisma attributed to the patron saint and the religious life led, whether in reality or aspirationally, by his spiritual heirs. This is the first Spanish translation of this work, which casts light on key aspects of Christian spirituality and religious practice in Ireland toward the end of the first millennium. |
