Description
Summary:Is baptism in utero a valid administration of the sacrament in the extreme case where the child will not survive birth? For example, is it valid to baptize in utero an anencephalic child whose birth must be induced and whose heart beat is so weak as to suggest that, although alive at the moment, it will be stillborn. If so, should this be done conditionally? There is nothing in the ritual about this, and a question has arisen in a hospital about the validity of such a baptism.
