Summary:This article draws upon historic and contemporary authors to outline a taxonomy of spiritual hazards in Christian teaching and ministry leadership and to document recommendations for soul care in these settings. Looking at dangers related to the professionalization of Christian identity, spiritual pride and vainglory, and the study and teaching of Christian content, the article urges ministers to exercise watchfulness and to develop postures and practices to mitigate the spiritual perils of Christian leadership.
