Description
Summary:On exegetical methods and all that: A discussion Discussions with leading European Old Testament scholars indicate that there have been no dramatic changes in exegetical methodology during the past ten years and that no consensus has been reached in this regard. Nevertheless most scholars appear to agree that both synchronic and diachronic facets should receive proper attention in the exegetical process, and that the two may be combined in a single model. The role of the reader and the whole matter of reception theory do not seem to have received much attention from Old Testament scholars in Europe.
