| Summary: | The African philosophy of Ubuntu is essential for the construction of new subjectivities that pave the way for plurality, diversity, and ancestry to connect, building a social ethic presupposed by the cosmoperception of the other. Its existence is perceptible in Afro-Brazilian religions, where collectivity predominates over individuality. The objective of this work is to demonstrate that, from this perspective, it is possible to transform society into a plural and welcoming place, free from prejudice. Therefore, using a qualitative methodology and an Afrocentric method, we explain the need to rebuild a praxis based on Ubuntu ethics to overcome racism and its consequences and build a culture of peace. Through the analyses developed, we conclude that in a racist society built under the aegis of Eurocentrism, breaking colonial stigmas is essential to fostering ethno-racial and gender equity, as well as other parameters established by colonialism. However, to socially transform relationships, it is necessary to understand Ubuntu in its ancestral, collective and plural aspect, from a perspective of quilombola communities and respect for diversity. |
