Description
Summary:This article aims to discuss the theological and mystical spiritual itinerary of ecstasy through the reading of works by Doctors of the Church, namely: Hildegard von Bingen and the work Scivias (2015) - ecstasy of light, authority; Catherine of Siena in The Dialogue (2021); ecstasy of wound as service and mediation; Teresa of Avila in The Interior Castle (2022) - ecstasy of discernment as self-government, exercise through humility and method in inner life; and Therese of Lisieux in The Story of a Soul (2021) - ecstasy of everyday life as the Little Way, simple acts. As a key to reading, it takes as a protocol the reflection on the participation of orientation ad extra. This raises the problem: what is the contribution of the understanding of ecstasy to a human formative process? This is a theoretical framework being developed for a doctoral dissertation in education. I proceed with a bibliographical-hermeneutical approach, reading the works authored by each Doctor, which considers itinerarium a guiding category for interpreting: from spiritual experience to formative criteria.
