| Summary: | Embedded in the scientific and philosophical landscape of the 19th century, marked by positivism, Cartesian rationalism, and Baconian empiricism, the Spiritist codification is analyzed in this article as a body of doctrine capable of offering investigative methodologies for understanding religious ecstasy. Methodologically, the study is based on a bibliographical review and theoretical reflections on experiences such as dreams, sleepwalking, ecstasy, and mediumship, proposing comparative parameters that engage with questions later developed by the phenomenology of religion. The findings suggest that Spiritist theory, by integrating empirical observation, rational reflection, and the experiential dimension, can be understood as an original path for the phenomenology of ecstasy, bringing relevant contributions to the interdisciplinary field of religious studies. |
