| Summary: | The library of Montserrat Abbey has a 14th-century Romano-Toledan breviary of unknown provenance registered under the signature Ms. 880. It was first described in 1969 by Revd. Alexandre Olivar, and its importance is due to a large extent to its being the oldest known plenary breviary of the diocese of Toledo. This paper describes the manuscript andoffers a comparative analysis of some of its most representative elements with the aim of presenting the features of this exemplar and the liturgical codification carried out in the Castilian see at that time in history. La Biblioteca de l'Abadia de Montserrat registra amb la signatura ms. 880 un breviari romanotoledà del segle XIV de procedència desconeguda. Fou descrit per primera vegada el 1969 pel pare Alexandre Olivar, i la seva importància es deu, en bona mesura, al fet de ser el breviari plenari més antic de la diòcesi de Toledo que es coneix fins avui. En aquest article s'ofereix una descripció del manuscrit i s'analitzen de forma comparada alguns dels seus elements més representatius per tal de fer conèixer les particularitats de l'exemplar, així com la codificació litúrgica duta a terme en la seu castellana en aquell moment històric. |
