| Summary: | La desamortización del Trienio Liberal sigue siendo una desconocida en el horizonte historiográfico riojano. Otro tanto puede decirse del devenir histórico del monasterio de San Prudencio, una de las instituciones desamortizadas, en las últimas décadas de su existencia. Arrojar algo de luz sobre estas dos problemáticas será parte del propósito de este trabajo. Pero el gran objetivo del mismo, gracias a la resolución del misterio de la venta de estas tierras del priorato de Villamediana, será ilustrar algunos de los medios que la naciente elite liberal-burguesa logroñesa empleó para consolidar su poder económico en la región en el convulso comienzo del s. XIX. The ecclesiastical confiscations of the Liberal Triennium continue being a mystery in the historiography of La Rioja (Spain). The same can be said of the history of the monastery of San Prudencio, one of the confiscated institutions, in its last decades of existence as well. Part of the aim of this article will be to put some light on these subjects. But the most important purpose will be to illustrate some of the means used by the new-born elite of Logroño to consolidate its economical power in the region in the tumultuous beginning of Spanish Nineteenth Century. |
