Description
Summary:Whether one can in fact speak of the religion or the theology of the Septuagint is currently a bone of contention in scholarly circles. In the Festschrift for Siegfried Mittmann I demonstrated that it is indeed possible to make reference to "An exegesis of the Septuagint", especially in those books that can be defined as freely rendered. At the Congress of the International Organisation for the Study of the Old Testament, held in Ljubljanja in Slovenia, I addressed the issue of a theology for the Septuagint.
