| Zusammenfassung: | Is it possible that the Theology of Liberation (TdL) – a modality of the theological production that was born with a seemingly inexhaustible vitality – may be dead? Seeking an answer to this question, this article outlines a wide and multicoloured panorama of the Theology of Liberation produced in Latin America, at first, in the 70s and 80s, with an exuberant intellectual effervescence that gradually cooled down in the 90s. The author critically analyses the main theses proposed by the TdL; looks at some of its most representative authors, bringing out their strong and weak points, theiromissionsandtheirlimitations.Itcorroboratestherelative “cooling down” of the TdL in the past decade and, finally, suggests ten ways that may help the TdL to recover its strength in order to face the new challenges that have appeared in the past decade and that have become, in fact, tasks awaiting for a creative solution in this beginning of a new millennium. Estará morta a Teologia da Libertação (TdL), modalidade de produção teológica que nasceu aparentando inexaurível vitalidade? Na busca de uma resposta, este artigo esboça um amplo e multicolorido panorama da TdL produzida na América Latina, com barulhenta efervescência intelectual nos anos ’70 e ’80, para esfriar sensivelmente nos anos ’90. Analisa criticamente as grandes teses defendidas pela TdL; passa em revista seus autores mais representativos e aponta seus pontos fortes e fracos, lacunas e limites. Constata o relativo “esfriamento” da TdL na última década, e propõe, ao final, dez pistas que possibilitem à TdL recuperar o vigor e enfrentar os novos desafios surgidos na última década, como tarefas à espera de solução criativa neste início de milênio. |
