| Summary: | The ways of addressing the human body have been gradually increasing in number and in depth. The body is now understood as “corporeity”, a deeper and more comprehensive concept. Similarly, the time has gone when sexuality was confounded with sex or with mere genitality. We now view sexuality as an energy that is configured with multiple and interrelated dimensions. These two steps in the understanding of corporeity and sexuality have already been a major breakthrough. However, neither the body nor sexuality can be properly understood and experienced if we ignore a new reality that increasingly imposes itself: virtuality. As the rights of the body and of sexuality are exacerbated, the search for much deeper sensations and the exasperate hope to create a new humankind at the laboratory are also intensified. All this opens up new opportunities, but also raises founded fears of growing dehumanization. As abordagens sobre o corpo são cada vez mais numerosas e cada vez mais aprofundadas. Hoje o corpo já vem entendido como “corporeidade”, conceito mais profundo e abrangente. Da mesma forma, já se passou o tempo em que se confundia sexualidade com sexo ou simples genitalidade. Hoje se percebe a sexualidade como uma energia que se configura com dimensões múltiplas e interligadas. Estes dois passos, na compreensão da corporeidade e da sexualidade já se constituíram num grande avanço. Contudo, nem o corpo, nem a sexualidade poderão ser devidamente entendidos e vivenciados, se ignorarmos uma nova realidade que vai se impondo cada dia mais: a virtualidade. Ao mesmo tempo em que se exacerbam os direitos do corpo e da sexualidade, exacerba-se também a busca de sensações bem mais profundas e a busca exasperada de criar uma nova humanidade a partir de laboratórios. Tudo isto abre novas perspectivas, mas também levanta fundados temores no sentido de uma crescente desumanização. |
