| Summary: | The aim of this article is to approach the task of the buyer (purchasing manager) from a Scriptural perspective. The need for guidance is as o ld as man k in d itself, and varied examples of management and managers are found in the Bible. Purchasing management is a process by which an attempt is made to utilize resources optimally in order to provide in certain needs and to attain certain objectives. Seen in Scriptural perspective, the implicit meaning is that the aims would have to be in line with the context of Cod’s Word and Law, and that one's co-workers should be seen as being creatures of God. Because of God’s creational mandate, man has the right to use and implement facets of management, but, as steward of God he has to give account of what he has achieved and what he has done. |
