Description
Summary:This article presents information related to the sermon of &Aelig;lred of Rievaulx. He had been commissioned to write a new Vita S. Edwardi replacing a work composed in the late 1130's by Osbert of Clare and a sermon on Luke 11:33. According to another source, however, he was not only present but used the opportunity to present the Vita and the sermon. This source is an entry in a set of annals once attributed to John of Peterborough though John's existence has long been discredited and the origin of the annals remains obscure.
