Description
Summary:The present article aims to highlight not only Augustine of Hippo's use of the literary genre of dialogue, but also his dialogical disposition, a key attitude and expression of his way of doing philosophy and theology. For this purpose, after a brief introduction, we will present some elements of his formation that allowed him to write in the form of dialogue. In a second moment we will present how dialogue is linked to the way in which Augustine conceived access to truth, emphasising some of the varied modalities in which he managed to give expression to his dialogical vocation. We refer to dialogue as a communal form of access to truth, as soliloquium, as confessio and as dialogue with creation.
