| Σύνοψη: | This article is devoted to the influence of the postmodern outlook on the Emerging church - one of the most important voices in contemporary Western Protestantism. Based on the significant role of Scripture and its methods of interpretation in evangelical Christianity, the author pays particular attention to the impact of postmodern hermeneutics on biblical theology in the Emerging church. For this purpose, analysis is made of the principle of plurality and characteristics of postmodern epistemology, the deconstruction theory of Jacques Derrida, and their penetration into evangelical theology (post-liberalism and post-conservatism). The author proves that the guiding principles of the Emerging church's approach to the interpretation of Scripture (i.e., special attention to story, the concept of interpretive communities, and the shift to the reader's perception) is an abandonment of the traditional understanding of revelation and the objective-analytic method of literal interpretation. |
