Description
Summary:This article presents the latest bibliographic update of neuropsychiatrist Anneliese Alma Pontius (1921-2018), who coined the neologism neuro-ethics in 1973. The 40 texts added to the bibliography published in 2022 have been thematically analyzed. What emerged was an interesting and novel field of research and reflection that weaves a bridge between neuroscience, psychiatry, and philosophy of action. In this contribution, the author begins the in-depth study of this topic related to the so-called neurolaw. Pontius’ pioneering vision also emerges in this context. The article emphasizes its relevance and originality of thought that touches the anthropological field in the characterization of hierarchical levels of consciousness and free will. Pontius’ medico-clinical model of neuroethics of a biological-systemic nature also connotes itself as a paradigm on the priority of life over human freedom.
