Description
Summary:The article explores the importance of Catholic chaplaincies in the context of Chadian prisons, which have been described as "marked by 'social structures of sin' that create violence, injustice and biopower". Based on the pastoral experience of Sister N'Guémta Nakoye Mannta in the Chadian prison of Klessoum, it highlights how African prisons, especially in Chad, represent places where social, pastoral and theological dynamics intersect. Prison chaplaincy work is perceived as a "pastoral frontier" on which the Church provides spiritual and social support to the prisoners.
