These Hebrew and Aramaic Scrolls - of which more than 900 have been recovered - are widely acknowledged as the greatest archaeological discovery of the 20th century. They have revolutionised scholarly understanding on a number of fronts, including the textual criticism of the Hebrew Bible and the history of early Judaism in the late Second Temple Period.
