Summary:This paper discusses Nehemiah's role in addressing socio-economic challenges after the third return of the Babylonian exiles to Palestine. This will be done in the following steps. First, we briefly discuss the fall of the Babylonian empire and the rise of the Persian Empire. Second, we discuss Artaxerxes' role in facilitating the third return of the exiles to Palestine. Third, we explore the identity of parties involved in the socio-economic crisis after the return of the exiles. Fourth, we analyse both events and circumstances related to the socio-economic crisis. And, finally, we examine Nehemiah's measures in addressing the socio-economic crisis.
