Описание
Итог:The practising of theology in South Africa has a historical development. South Africa is on the threshold of far-reaching social and polical changes. New circumstances call for reorientation. This applies to the formal as well as material aspects of the practicing of theology, Old Testament theology included. This article discusses the importance of Old Testament study and the possibilities as well as the problems in connection with the future of Old Testament studies in this country. Different approaches receive attention and the following points are being dealt with: (1) the place of theology as a science, (2) the religious composition of South Africa, (3) the absoluteness of the Word, and the freedom as well as the relativity of theology, (4) the relevance of the Old Testament, and (5) central revelation historical aspects.
