| Summary: | The article addresses the ecumenical dimension of catechesis. It proposes, firstly, an ecumenical response to the sociocultural challenges faced in the teaching of faith and Catholic doctrine, and then points out the ecumenical tasks of catechesis, the ecumenical implications in fulfilling its objectives, contents and method. From this, the study points to the possibility of working on ecumenism in the initiation to the Christian life, in the training of catechists and in ecumenical cooperation with other churches for the teaching of the Christian faith. The method used in this research is the qualitative analysis of the bibliography on catechesis, giving priority to ecclesial documents. It concludes by showing that catechesis makes a contribution of significant importance to the affirmation of ecumenism as a dimension of the Christian faith, the Church and its mission. |
