Description
Summary:Research on the history of Israel has undergone important changes in the last three decades which, however, have not been transferred with the same intensity to curricular projects, teaching or didactic content. This article studies this reality and, to do so, first of all presents the status of the history of Israel in theological studies and the didactic-teaching difficulties. In particular, it analyses the problem of reconciling the teaching of sacred history and critical historiography. Secondly, it presents the main changes that the discipline has undergone in recent decades and their relevance. Finally, it proposes two realities that need to be better integrated into curricular projects: the history of the women of ancient Israel and the environmental perspective. Their inclusion would contribute to the improvement of the formative itineraries, theological reflection and pastoral practice.
