Description
Summary:The gospel as a pragmatic-communicative act: A perspective on evangelism The article focuses on the gospel as a pragmatic-communicative act. The answer to the question of what is communicated by the gospel, is determined by examining the relationship between evangelism and mission. Certain models for determining the difference between evangelism and mission are examined. The scope of the term gospel is analysed at the hand of Luke chapter 4, and its application in the Missiology and Practical Theology is elucidated in the light of the above finding. The gospel as a pragmatic-communicative act is, lastly, illustrated at the hand of the parable of the prodigal son.
