Description
Summary:Before and after Vatican II a variety of rites has always corresponded to a variety of formulas used to express the Christian faith. Over the centuries, however, the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed had assumed a predominant role as a "liturgical" creed, due to its presence in the Liturgy of the Mass. Thus, with the liturgical reform of Vatican II, the foundational actuosa participatio in the baptismal priesthood, and the renewed understanding of the relationship between baptism and the liturgy itself, had to correspond to a rediscovery of a 'baptismal' formula of faith to be included also in the Liturgy of the Mass: the so-called Apostles Creed.
