Description
Summary:The author considers the dialogue between Christianity and reason in the light of Benedict XVI’s encyclical Spe salvi. He places in special relief the text of Plato’s Gorgias, which the Pope quotes. The first part analyses in what sense was there a deep relationship between Greek thought and Christianity and how it continues. The second contains some considerations of the Gorgias text that Pope Benedict XVI quotes to talk about the personal judgement that takes place after each person’s demise. The third part finally shows how the idea of judgement after death allows a fruitful dialogue between human rationality and Revelation.
