Descrição
Resumo:Oliver Friggieri spoke of Malta as the roundabout of the Mediterranean; a roundabout is a place as against a non-place. This analysis also reflects the reality of the Mediterranean in general. Within this context, Pope Francis acknowledges the importance of contextual theologies and encourages inter- and transdisciplinary approaches within theology. This article will look at the development of theology after Veritatis Gaudium in the Mediterranean by arguing that doing contextual theology entails looking at the suffering of the poor and those at the periphery as counter to the false narrative of economic prosperity and social equity which the powerful promulgate.
