Description
Summary:The article tries to summarize the essential elements of the research around the studies on samaritanism, placed in a genetic relationship with Judaism, in particular, at the time of the Second Temple. Alongside these aspects, the paper also intends to study two useful elements for the current debate: on the one hand, the terminological analysis, marked by self- and hetero-designations of samaritanism, offering a particular reading on the "sidonii of Shechemµ and on the other hand, the focus on a defining moment in the story, at the time of John Hyrcanus I, in the work of Judaization of the ancient territory of Israel.
