| Summary: | The article presents an analytical study concerning the thought elaborated by Léon Bourgeois (1851-1925), the French politician and thinker. His study, centered on the category of solidarity, has long been ignored by Christian solidarist thought, but presents elements of interest. The article is organized in three fundamental parts: the urgency of a critical re-elaboration of the category of solidarity starting from today’s context becomes immediately apparent; secondly, the history of the term "solidarity" in European social thinking and in the Social Doctrine of the Church is concisely introduced; in conclusion, we arrive at some systematic considerations regarding the Author’s thought. |
