| Summary: | In the first part of this article, I will start with a review of monographic publications on the doctrine of God in the strict sense. In this context, there emerges a special interest in theological language, because it is impossible to describe the divine reality in propositions with clear-cut concepts. The most prominent alternative is metaphorical language, which is adequate in personal contexts. Moreover, the coherence of the biblical story includes significant tensions and thereby surpasses logical consistency. The ultimate concentration of this theological coherence can be found in the trinitarian dogma.
