| Summary: | En este artículo presento un estudio, a raíz de los documentos que existen en el Archivo de la Provincia Agustiniana de Filipinas, de todo el proceso que la mencionada Provincia religiosa tuvo que llevar a cabo hasta su establecimiento definitivo en el antiguo monasterio premonstratense. La razón para tal fundación fue la siguiente: el elevado número de aspirantes a la vida religiosa agustiniana con miras a la misión en Ultramar, haría que el prestigioso Real Colegio de Filipinos de Valladolid no pudiera satisfacer esta demanda de acoger a todos, y por esto mismo, se presentó la necesidad de buscar otra casa donde establecer otro colegio donde se formasen los futuros misioneros. Tras las gestiones oportunas, el colegio agustiniano de La Vid empezó a ser una realidad el 1 de octubre de 1866. In this article I present a study, based on the documents that exist in the Archive of the Augustinian Province of the Philippines,of the entire process that the aforementioned religious Province had to carry out until its definitive establishment in the old premonstratensian monastery. The reason for this foundation was the following: the large number of aspirants to the augustinian religiouslife with a view to the mission overseas would make the prestigious Royal College of Filipinos of Valladolid unable to satisfy this demand to welcome everyone, and for this reason, the need arose tolook for another house where to establish another school where fu-ture missionaries would be formed. After the appropriate steps, the augustinian school of La Vid became a reality on October 1, 1866. |
