The liturgy has become a place of polarisation. Theology, real theology, is a tool to overcome polarisation. But the anti-modernist use of theology increases polarisation. The examples of the Eucharist and marriage are clear. A reactionary use of liturgy reduces it to a tool to perpetuate the honour society. This is the temptation of all traditionalism today. |
