| Sumario: | This article examines the Hebrew Bible’s use of legal metaphors in its depiction of the material cosmos (exemplified by the use of חקק) and compares it with the same phenomena in Mesopotamian texts (exemplified by the use of kittu ). This study shows that the two metaphors are of two different types: the one around חקק is »legislative«, in which the creator-legislator imposes laws on the cosmos to ensure the regularity in its working; the one around kittu is »judicial«, in which the divine judge reveals his decision over divinatory cases truthfully through cosmic phenomena. Dieser Artikel untersucht die Verwendung juristischer Metaphern in der hebräischen Bibel bei der Darstellung des materiellen Kosmos (z.B. die Verwendung von חקק) und vergleicht sie mit denselben Phänomenen in mesopotamischen Texten (z.B. die Verwendung von kittu). Diese Studie zeigt, dass die beiden Metaphern zwei unterschiedliche Typen sind: Die um חקק ist »gesetzgebend«, in der der Schöpfer-Gesetzgeber dem Kosmos Gesetze auferlegt, um die Regelmäßigkeit seines Funktionierens zu gewährleisten; die um kittu ist »gerichtlich«, in der der göttliche Richter seine Entscheidung über divinatorische Fälle wahrheitsgemäß durch kosmische Phänomene offenbart., Cet article examine les usages dans la Bible hébraïque de métaphores juridiques dans sa représentation de la matérialité du cosmos (racine חקק) et compare ces usages au même phénomène dans les textes mésopotamiens (terme kittu). Cette étude montre que les deux métaphores sont différentes: חקק renvoie à une fonction »législative« avec un créateur-législateur qui impose des lois au cosmos pour assurer la régularité de son fonctionnement; kittu renvoie au monde »judiciaire« avec un juge divin qui révèle sa décision sur des cas divinatoires de manière véridique à travers des phénomènes cosmiques. |
