The article focuses on the book of Joshua, which is fundamental to the discussions surrounding the territory of Palestine and the disputes over its possession, yester-day and today. It highlights the colonizing and supremacist inspirations that it has given rise to over time - in fields such as politics, archaeology and preaching - and stresses the need to confront the issue of its creation, since it coexists, in a tense way, with plural popular memories of peoples who lived in ancient Canaan/Palestine and attempts to unify history, with the hegemony of Israel/Judah and the inevitable silencing that results. |
