Description
Summary:This article attempts to compare the reading which two contemporary theologians, Emmanuel Durand and Giacomo Biffi, propose concerning the reason for the Incarnation. We have chosen these two authors because both present a reading which distinguishes itself from traditional interpretations. The careful analysis which these two theologians make of medieval authors concerning the reason for the Incarnation of Jesus Christ and their critical interpretation of such authors, Dun Scotus in particular, has urged us to investigate the question further and to compare the results of this research in order to deepen the understanding of an argument so central for Christian theology.
