Description
Summary:When archeologists look for signs of human habitation, they search for traces of creativity. And when ancient creative works are found, they are most often religiously oriented. Given material form, the convergence of gifted creativity with religious desire reveals the fundamental nature of human longing for the divine mystery. To act on this desire enfleshes prayer, moving it from private to public and back again, in a nurturing cycle. This essay explores the processes and relationships that continue to make art-making an instance of prayer, an invitation to prayer, and a perceptible and accessible entry into the God-human-cosmos relationship.
