Summary: | A word religion conveys the reality of God only by words, not primarily by events of nature. The use of metaphors of God, however, permits e.g. in the 18th Psalm to connect to real life world experiences by language and to “transmit” them to God conceptually, imaginatively and eomtionally through the metaphorical meaning of the text. |
