Description
Summary:Hans Urs von Balthasar in Dialog with Karl Barth. Confronted with Neoscholasticism, the young Jesuit, Hans Urs von Balthasar, was looking for a theological alternative. He happened to find this alternative as he read Karl Barth. In 1940 did he meet his Reformed compatriot in person. Thus began a dialogue that would last for many years. Most importantly, Balthasar took up Barth’s vision of a christologically focused way of thinking which he sought to incorporate into Catholic theology But the longer the more their ways would develop in different directions. Nevertheless, Balthasar owed the Church Dogmatics a great deal.
