Description
Item Description:FRATER LUCIAN THOMAS JESSEN. O. PRAEM, 1939 - I960, Thou hast made us for ;Thyself, O Lord; and our heart is ;restless until it rests in Thee. St. Augustine. - This picture of Frater Lucian Thomas Jessen, O. Praem, before the main window of Saint Norbert Abbey Church, was takne in June 1959. Lucian was a young Norbertine cleric. He was endowed with the precious gifts of a deep faith and an ardent love of duty and above all his fraternal charity. - His extremely sudden death on June 29, 1960 focused attention on his character. The picture too, as a consequence, began to take on an additional significance following his death. It was, therefore, suggested that it be reproduced in this form in the hope that Lucian's image may recall his virtuous life which in turn may inspire other worthy young men to seek perfection in the order of Saint Norbert
