Item Description:This church was the first Protestant Church is Washington and is the Mother Church of Presbyterianism in the city. Lafayette's farewell was spoken from its pulpit. It has been called "The Church of Presidents" - seven Presidents having attended here, including Abraham Lincoln, whose pew may be seen in the center aisle and to whom the spire and chimes are memorials, given by the Lincoln family
