Item Description:A Spanish mission was established in the town of Ysleta in 1682. Fire destroyed most of the original building in 1907, but the structure has been rebuilt in its orginal form. Age-old superstition is manifest in the blue door and window frames which are so painted to insure happiness and good luck, and to repel evil spirits
