| Item Description: | One of many old churches on historic Edisto Island is this beautiful Presbyterian Church that was organized around 1710. Present building, erected in 1831, survived the Civil War although robbed of its contents. "Tokens" were formerly used for admission to the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Bags on long handles are still in use for taking the offerings |
