| Item Description: | The Prayer Chapel pulpit is the one taken from the original church established in 1823. Such greats of yesteryear as Dr. Basil Manly, the church's first pastor, and Dr. William Bullein Johnson, first president of the Southern Baptist Convention, preached from this pulpit. In the chapel historical records are kept, and portraits of Dr. Manly. Dr. Johnson, Dr. R. Lee, and Dr. C. E. Burts are on display |
