| Item Description: | Mary's Central Shrine, which Father Skelly called "the Center and Heart" of The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, is housed in the 100-year old Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.The Shrine, built in 1927, is located in the chapel transept at right of picture. The graceful tower, which contains a carillon of 47 bells, is topped by a statue of the Immaculate Virgin. St. Vincent's Seminary, headquarters of the Vincentian Fathers' United States Eastern Province, is adjacent to the Chapel (left of picture). The Miraculous Medal Perpetual Novena originated at Mary's Central Shrine in 1930. More than 10,000 people attend the 12 Novena services held here every Monday of the year |
